The Mezuzah Project
The Mezuzah Project was founded in 2025 by committed volunteers in the United States and continues to be running entirely by volunteers. Soldiers are living and sleeping on bases without mezuzot. Our mission is to make sure there is a checked, kosher mezuzah in each doorway of every base and outpost from which the IDF operates. With absolutely no overhead cost, every dollar donated goes towards achieving that mission.
We partner directly with the IDF rabbinate on the bases to assess how many mezuzot are still needed.
Or LaChayal
We also partner with Rabbi Mendy Ofen to assist with the procurement and distribution of the mezuzot. Rabbi Ofen’s non-profit organization, His non-profit organization, Or LaChayal, is one of Israel’s leading organizations supporting IDF soldiers. Working in collaboration with the IDF, Or LaChayal works tirelessly to strengthen Israel’s soldiers, physically and spiritually, feeding the body and the soul of Israel’s army.
Israel Select
Israel Select is a non-profit organization that over the last two years has distributed 10,000 pairs of tefillin to IDF soldiers interested in committing to wear tefillin every day. The Mezuzah Project uses Israel Select as a 501c3 partner in the United States to make all contributions tax deductible.
