This year as we continue to focus our hearts on Israel, in lieu of a Mishloach Manot we have chosen to make a donation in your honor to The Mezuzah Project.
The Mezuzah Project is an initiative to make sure that every doorway on every IDF base in Israel has a kosher mezuzah. Unfortunately there are 1000s of doorways completely bare of a mezuzah and 10s of thousands more that have not been checked since Rami last served during the Yom Kippur War. Recognizing this problem and wanting to make sure that all of our chayalim have the protection that HaShem promises from the fulfillment of the mitzvah of mezuzah, my son Michael in Riverdale (I’m proud to say) set about to fix this by establishing The Mezuzah Project. Schools and Shuls around the country have begun to partner with The Mezuzah Project to raise awareness in their communities and sponsor mezuzot that are being put up by the chayalim. This week SAR launched their partnership and I believe that Ramaz is launching theirs in several weeks. Sandy Dweck in the middle school I believe is the one leading the way for Ramaz.
